What happens
On October 22, 2026 at 20:11 UTC, Chainlink announced a strategic partnership with LG CNS, the technology arm of LG Group.
LG CNS is the lead contractor for Project Hangang, the Bank of Korea's flagship digital currency pilot. It builds the digital asset platform Korean institutions plug into. Chainlink now supplies the cross chain, data and orchestration layer underneath it.
The numbers
Korea is Asia's second largest digital asset market, about $68B.
The won ranks second in crypto trading volume, behind only the dollar.
At 08:59 UTC on October 23, LINK traded at $12.19, up about 1% in 24 hours while the total crypto market lost about 3%.
LINK is still about 6% lower over 30 days and about 77% below its May 2021 high of $52.70.
What I'm watching
Whether Korean institutions actually start using the platform, not just announce it.
Any update from the Bank of Korea on the next phase of Project Hangang.
Whether LINK keeps holding up on red market days.
A partnership is not usage yet. Big names open doors. Volume keeps them open.
NFA.
