Performance Methodology
Last reviewed: September 5, 2026
This page explains exactly how the performance figures published on this site are calculated, what they measure, and what they do not measure. It applies to every number shown on the VIP results page, the homepage, and anywhere else setup performance appears.
1. What These Numbers Are#
The figures on this site describe the performance of individual chart setups shared in the VIP group.
They are not:
- Account returns. We do not have access to any member's exchange account.
- Portfolio growth. There is no starting capital and no tracked portfolio behind these numbers.
- Backtested or simulated results. Every setup counted here was published in the group before its outcome was known.
- A guarantee, projection, or promise of any kind.
A setup's result is what the setup did. What any individual account did depends on entry timing, position size, leverage, fees, and the trader's own decisions. Those will differ from the published figure, sometimes substantially.
2. How a Setup's Return Is Calculated#
Every setup has four take-profit levels: TP1, TP2, TP3, and TP4. The position is secured in four equal portions, 25% at each level.
A setup's return is therefore the exposure-weighted average of the four levels:
Setup return = (25% × TP1) + (25% × TP2) + (25% × TP3) + (25% × TP4)
It is not the sum of the four take-profit percentages. That distinction matters, so here is a worked example.
A setup reaches TP1 at 10%, TP2 at 20%, TP3 at 30%, and TP4 at 40%. The correct return is:
(0.25 × 10%) + (0.25 × 20%) + (0.25 × 30%) + (0.25 × 40%) = 25%
Adding the four levels together would produce 100%, which would misrepresent the return on the actual exposure, because only a quarter of the position was open at each level. The correct figure for that setup is 25%.
The same formula is applied to every setup, every month, without exception.
3. Wins and Losses#
Both are counted. A month's figures include its losing setups, not just its winners.
- A win means at least TP1 was reached.
- A loss means the stop loss was hit before TP1 was reached.
The win rate published on this site is the number of wins divided by the total number of setups over the period shown, using those definitions.
4. Monthly and Cumulative Figures#
Monthly figures are the aggregate of the setup-level returns for that month, calculated as described above.
The Cumulative Total is the sum of those monthly setup returns across the published history. It is a running total of setup performance. It is not a compounded return, and it should not be read as the growth of an account balance. An account that traded every setup at a fixed position size would not arrive at this number, because real position sizing, fees, slippage, and missed entries all change the outcome.
Spot and leverage results are reported separately as well as combined, so the source of a month's performance is visible rather than blended into one figure.
Where a month has no published data, it is shown as unavailable rather than counted as zero.
5. Source Data and Updates#
Performance figures come from a single tracking workbook maintained continuously as setups are published and closed. Results are published monthly. The publication date shown alongside the figures is the date the current data set was uploaded.
Every published month traces back to its underlying trade records, which are retained so that any figure on this page can be reconciled against the trades behind it.
6. Corrections#
If an error is found in a published figure, it is corrected and the data set is republished. We do not remove or quietly revise unfavourable months. Losing months stay published.
7. Not Financial Advice#
Nothing on this page or anywhere else on this site constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Trading carries significant risk, including the loss of your entire capital.
