What happens
On October 12, 2026, Sui said DATA Network and its Trace registry are joining the Sui stack. Walrus becomes the default storage layer for DATA Foundation apps, and is set to keep an encrypted copy of rights cleared AI training data for licensed buyers.

- The published date for the migration to Walrus, still missing
- Whether real storage demand from Trace shows up onchain

When AI training data needs a vault on Sui, Walrus is the named default. The next test is the upgrade date.
