What happens
On October 13, 2026, Unichain, the Uniswap layer 2, started moving to OP Enterprise with its testnet. Mainnet follows on October 29. After the move, Optimism runs the production stack for Unichain: sequencers, RPC, monitoring and incident response.
For users nothing changes on the surface. Chain ID, contracts, balances and Uniswap v2, v3 and v4 stay the same.
The numbers
- OP price: $0.149 at 11:14 UTC on October 14, about +10% in 24 hours
- 30 day move: about +61%, while Bitcoin stayed flat
- Distance from peak: about 97% below the $4.84 all-time high
- Testnet move: October 13
- Mainnet move: October 29
What I'm watching
- Whether the October 29 mainnet move goes smoothly, with no downtime
- A live date for native interop, which is still missing
- Whether other large apps follow Uniswap and hand their chain to OP Enterprise
- If OP holds its 30 day gains once the news is priced in
When Uniswap trusts Optimism to run its own chain, that is a real client for the OP Stack. The next test is October 29.
